Adelphi University offers a 100 percent online master of business administration (MBA) designed for students who want a flexible graduate business education that fits their busy lives. The program uses an asynchronous format with eight-week terms and offers full-time and part-time options, allowing most students to complete the degree in 12 to 24 months. No GMAT or GRE is required, and no managerial work experience is required, making the program accessible to recent graduates and early-career professionals.

The online MBA develops essential business skills in leadership, team building, negotiation, communication, business analytics, strategic management, and entrepreneurship. Students can choose the general MBA, which allows them to select electives from any discipline, or pursue one of three optional specializations: business analytics, finance, or health services administration.

The business analytics specialization prepares students to turn complex business data into strategic insights through training in Tableau, Python, data visualization, R, forecasting, and machine learning. The finance specialization develops problem-solving and critical-thinking skills for financial markets, including stock and bond valuation, risk and return, capital market theory, investment analysis, and portfolio management. The health services administration specialization prepares students to manage healthcare organizations through study of hospital management, healthcare policy, quality management, budgeting, and healthcare finance.

Each specialization, including the general MBA, includes experiential learning through two Problem Solving Days, which are online and on-campus events where students collaborate in teams to address real organizational challenges. Students can also attend virtual and on-campus events such as conferences and lectures. The health services administration specialization also includes a faculty-advised, field-related research project and the option to complete an internship within a healthcare organization.

Adelphi University, founded in 1896 and located in Garden City, New York, is institutionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The university’s online MBA is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).

What to Expect from the Adelphi University Online MBA

Admission Requirements: To apply to the Adelphi University online MBA, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants must submit official transcripts from all prior institutions, a resume, a personal essay, and an application fee. A letter of recommendation is optional. Students may transfer up to six credits.

The program does not require GMAT or GRE scores, and no managerial work experience is required. The program can be tailored for graduates of both business and non-business undergraduate programs. International applicants must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited university and a course-by-course evaluation. They must also submit official transcripts from all prior institutions in both English and the original language.

Study Plan: The online MBA at Adelphi University requires 36 credits and uses eight-week terms in a flexible, asynchronous, 100 percent online format. Students may choose the general MBA or one of three optional 12-credit specializations. The program offers both full-time and part-time options, with most students completing the degree in 12 to 24 months. Full-time students can finish the MBA in as few as 12 months by attending during the summer term, while part-time students typically complete the program in 24 months. New student intakes are offered in the fall and spring.

Curriculum: All students complete the following core courses: accounting for managerial analysis; ethical leadership and management styles; computer applications; statistical methods; creating organizational value with operations and supply chain management; negotiation for the business leader; corporate finance; team building for the business leader; and strategic management. Students in the general MBA can choose electives from any discipline to round out their degree.

Business analytics specialization: Required courses are marketing analytics; introduction to computer programming; applied machine learning; and data visualization for business analytics.

Finance specialization: Required courses include marketing management; building shareholder value; investment analysis; and portfolio management.

Health services administration specialization: Required courses include marketing management; quality management and regulation in health care; hospital and health care policy and management; and hospital and health care finance.

Online Experience: The Adelphi University online MBA is delivered in a flexible, asynchronous, 100 percent online format with eight-week terms. Students have access to experienced faculty, academic advisors, IT support, tutoring through the Learning and Writing Centers, and career services through the Center for Career and Professional Development.

On-Site Requirements: The Adelphi University online MBA has no required on-site or campus visit requirements. All coursework is completed fully online in an asynchronous format. Students may optionally attend on-campus events, such as problem-solving days, lectures, and conferences, but these are not required.
