The F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business through Babson College offers an AACSB-accredited blended learning MBA with mostly online learning and face-to-face immersion sessions. With twelve three- to five-day immersions at the downtown Miami campus, students create relationships, collaborate with faculty and peers, and get the best of both online and in-person instruction.

What to Expect from the Babson College Blended Learning MBA

Admission Requirements: Applicants to the Babson blended learning MBA must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher. The GRE or GMAT is not typically required for the blended learning MBA; however, the admissions committee has the option of requesting the score in applicable cases. Application materials include an essay, resume or CV, one professional letter of recommendation (with two recommended), official transcripts from all previous education, an application fee, and a video interview.

International students must provide proof of English language proficiency through the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE, or obtain an exam waiver. International applicants are eligible to study through this program and are eligible for F-1/J-1 student visas.

Study Plan: The Babson blended learning MBA can be completed in 21 months. Students should plan to spend about 25 hours per week on coursework. The program is considered full-time and requires face-to-face immersions typically three times per semester. The program begins in the fall and students move through as a cohort.

MBA Curriculum: The Babson blended learning MBA consists of 46 credits and roughly twelve immersion sessions at the Miami campus (three per semester).

Courses include entrepreneurship and opportunity; creating and leading effective organizations; financial reporting; managing talent, your own and others; global connections through technology; special topics: entrepreneurial growth; marketing; managerial economics; data, models, and decisions; introduction to financial management law; special topics: social innovation; technology and operations management; measuring and managing strategic performance; strategy; special topics: global enterprising; special topics: entrepreneurship in the digital world; signature learning experience; and a capstone in international macroeconomics and business environment analysis.

Online Experience: The blended learning MBA experience includes online courses and collaboration, mixed with face-to-face immersions in Miami. Students move through as a cohort, utilizing Blackboard Learn to watch recorded videos; interact via webconferencing, discussion boards, and chat; check and upload assignments; collaborate with faculty and peers; and take assessments. Student services include round-the-clock technical support, academic advising, faculty office hours, financial aid advisors, online library and bookstore services, and career counseling.

On-Site Requirements: Students come to the Brickell Avenue campus in downtown Miami, Florida for three immersions per semester for a total of 12 face-to-face sessions. Each lasts three to five days and falls at the semester’s beginning, middle, and end. Graduation is also open to online and blended learning students.
