EWU Online MBA & Dual MBA-MPAcc | Eastern Washington University

Eastern Washington University (EWU) offers a 100 percent online accelerated master of business administration (MBA) with five concentrations in general business, finance, accounting, international business, and health services administration that can be completed in ten months. A dual MBA and master of professional accounting (MBA-MPAcc) degree is also offered that can be completed in just 14 months.

These accelerated programs offer very affordable tuition, seven start dates, and six-week courses. Those without a bachelor’s degree in business may need to take 12 credits of foundation courses before continuing in the online MBA. The GMAT/GRE is required, but a waiver is available for many applicants.

Graduates of the online MBA in general business may go on to positions such as sales director, marketing director, chief executive officer (CEO), human resources director, or financial manager. Careers for graduates of the online MBA in finance may lean more toward banking and finance positions such as investment banking associate, financial analyst, cash manager, corporate controller, or business consultant.

Graduates of the online MBA in accounting may go on to leadership and management positions as auditors, accountants, and advisors. Those who complete the online MBA in international business may gain positions such as economist, international trader, multinational marketing manager, import/export coordinator, or global consultant. Finally, health services administration MBA graduates may earn positions such as health services administrator, hospital CEO, policy analyst, or positions with insurance and pharmaceutical companies.

Applicants to the dual MBA-MPAcc degree who do not have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business may need to take up to 20 credit hours of accounting courses and up to 12 credit hours of business courses before progressing in the dual degree program. Completion of the additional courses will be assessed on a course-by-course basis.

The dual MBA-MPAcc degree allows students to earn at least 28 credits toward the requirements for sitting for the certified public accountant (CPA) certification exam. Students can tailor the dual degree to meet their individual goals with choices in MBA and MPAcc electives. An optional internship is available as well. Graduates may go on to positions in law firms, business management, financial planning, economics, and policy planning.
