What to Expect from Nexford University Online Master of Business Administration

Admission Requirements: Admission to Nexford University’s online MBA programs requires proof of identity, proof of graduation, and proof of English proficiency. Applicants must submit a photo or scan of a government-issued form of identification and a passport-style photo or selfie.

Applicants must provide an official copy of their transcript in English confirming completion of a bachelor’s degree in a business or business-related field. Those without the required degree background must first complete designated foundation courses for their program. Applicants who hold a master’s degree or higher, or an equivalent credential, are not required to complete the foundation courses.

To confirm English proficiency, applicants can submit a copy of their diploma or transcript from an accredited college or university in the US or its territories or an international equivalent where the language of instruction was English. If they did not study in English, they can submit an official score report from an approved English language exam taken within the last two years.

Study Plan: All Nexford University online MBA programs require 12 courses to complete: eight core courses, three elective or specialization courses, and one capstone project. Courses are designed to take two months each, but students can finish a course in just one month. Students begin with one course at a time and can increase their course load as they progress, at no extra cost.

The program length is nine to 18 months. Students can finish faster by completing courses more quickly, increasing their course load, or transferring credits from prior education or relevant work experience. The program is flexibly paced, with weekly deadlines to keep students on track. Live sessions are optional, and students are expected to invest at least 10 hours per week.

Curriculum: MBA core courses include global business; leadership and organizational development; marketing strategy; technology and operations management; accounting and financial reporting; organizational strategy; introduction to intrapreneurship and innovation; and financial decision-making. The capstone project for all programs is the business administration capstone.

For the general online MBA with no specialization, students choose any three elective courses from a long list of options. Electives may include data sciences for decision making; artificial intelligence; robotics and automation; corporate sustainability; blockchain for finance; cybersecurity leadership; renewable energy; managing healthcare; and others.

• MBA with international business specialization courses: doing business in India; doing business in China; and doing business in Sub-Saharan Africa.
• MBA with sustainability specialization courses: renewable energy; managing healthcare; and food and agribusiness.
• MBA with healthcare management specialization courses: strategic healthcare management and innovation; healthcare finance and reimbursement; and digital transformation and health informatics.

Online Experience: All Nexford University online MBA programs are delivered 100 percent online. The program is flexibly paced, with weekly deadlines to keep students on track. Live sessions are optional, and students are expected to invest at least 10 hours per week. Courses incorporate real industry projects, digital badges, and certificates that showcase skills as students progress.

On-Site Requirements: There are no on-site requirements for any of the online MBA programs. All coursework can be completed entirely online with no campus visits required.
