Northwest Missouri State University Online Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Northwest Missouri State University (NMSU) has a history of training educators, innovators and leaders since 1905. NMSU takes pride in its vibrant campus community and championship culture. NMSU has a student body numbering more than 9,000 students, and nearly one in three students are first-generation college students.

The NMSU Booth College of Business and Professional Studies offers an online master of business administration (MBA) program with several specializations: accounting; agricultural economics; business analytics; finance; geographic information systems; healthcare management; human resource management; management; marketing; and a general MBA program. NMSU’s various MBA programs offer students a large number of options to develop the skills necessary to pursue careers in the business world.

What to Expect from NMSU Online MBA Programs

Admission Requirements: Applicants to NMSU’s MBA program must have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university in which they maintained a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0-point scale.

In addition, applicants must have one of the following: 1) three years of continuous professional, full-time work experience, 2) three years of continuous full-time U.S. enlisted or commissioned military service, 3) a graduate degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, 4) a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.50, 5) a GMAT score of at least 440, 6) a GRE score of at least 285, or 7) have a score on the Major Field Test for Business that places them in at least the 70th percentile. In addition, all applicants whose undergraduate degree was not in a business field must complete an MBA business foundation course before they will be permitted to begin graduate coursework.

NMSU Online MBA Programs

State Restrictions: NMSU welcomes students from a variety of backgrounds, including international applicants, military personnel, transfer students, and more.

International students are considered eligible for NMSU admission provided they have a baccalaureate-level degree from either an accredited American university or one recognized by their home country’s Ministry of Education in which they maintained a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.50 on a 4.00 scale.

Applicants must submit the online application, official transcripts, as well as certified translations of official transcripts if the original transcripts are not in English, documentation showing sufficient financial resources to sustain themselves during their studies at NMSU, and proof of English language proficiency as demonstrated by taking a language exam from an approved language proficiency provider. Given the MBA program requirements for U.S. citizen students noted above and the fact that professional experience and testing completed overseas may not be considered truly equivalent, it is recommended that international students contact NMSU directly to ensure they have backgrounds that will be considered qualifying for MBA program admission.

NMSU has been recognized as a Military Friendly School since approximately 2010. Military applicants may be admitted to the MBA programs as transfer students. To be eligible for admission military applicants must submit an online application, official transcripts from studies completed both outside and inside the military, and apply for financial aid. Military students may be eligible for a variety of financial assistance, including VA Benefits, State Tuition Assistance, and Federal Tuition Assistance. Particular programs military students may benefit from include the GI Bill and Missouri Returning Heroes’ Act. NMSU also evaluates military experience and training for potential college credit according to the recommendations of the American Council on Education (ACE). The NMSU Office of Veterans Affairs coordinates services for veterans, works as a liaison with the Veterans Administration, and offers certification for military student education benefits.

Students of other backgrounds should contact NMSU directly to verify current admission regulations.

Study Plan: Students can complete the MBA program within approximately 12 to 18 months. Students interested in completing their program of study part-time or over an extended time period should contact NMSU Admissions to verify current policy regarding degree study planning.

Paying for the NMSU Online MBA Degree Programs

The online MBA degree program tuition figures are listed in the tables below. Prospective students should closely review tuition information and contact NMSU for additional support with applications and questions as needed.

The NMSU Office of Scholarships and Financial Assistance provides a range of services to support prospective and current students in financing their education.

The office’s website features information on a number of topics, including cost of attendance, the financial aid application process, various federal, state and university financial resources, veterans-specific resources, and still more.

Many students will require financial aid to finance their education. At NMSU, nine in ten freshman students receive financial aid. Students seeking federal financial aid must apply for such aid with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Processing of the FAFSA is essential to determining aid eligibility. Students often finance their education through a combination of resources, including grants, scholarships, private loans, reduced tuition programs, and more. Military personnel are but one example of a student background that may benefit from varied tuition assistance programs.
