Schools with an Exceptional Organizational Leadership Faculty
Organizational leadership programs are lucrative degrees for students who wish to pursue management-level roles and positions. These programs train students to take the initiative, make ethical decisions, deal with organizational challenges, and motivate their team members. Organizations small and large need effective managers, and graduates from organizational leadership programs are in demand.
An online master’s in organizational leadership can be completed in two years or less. Students take courses on leading change, ethics and integrity, leadership skills, conflict management, and the psychology of motivation. At the end of the program, students are prepared to lead an organization efficiently and affect change around them.

Heewon Chang, PhDEastern University
Dr. Heewon Chang teaches organizational leadership at the College of Business and Leadership of Eastern University. She leads courses in qualitative research methodology, equity and social justice in educational leadership and policy, the foundation of research methods, and a dissertation proposal seminar. Before she joined Eastern University, she worked at several other institutions, including Yonsei University, the University of Oregon, Charles Sturt University, Eastern College, and Ursinus College.
Dr. Chang’s research endeavors are focused on autoethnography, qualitative research, ethnography, leadership development, and educational leadership for justice. She is a member of several professional organizations, such as the National Association of Multicultural Education, the International Leadership Association, and the Korean Anthropological Education Association. Notably, she has published her research in top journals such as the Journal of Educational Anthropology, the International Journal of Quantitative Studies in Education, and the International Journal of Multicultural Education, where she also serves as editor-in-chief. She has received many honors throughout her education and career such as the Graduate Student Service Award and the Most Distinguished Graduating Senior Award in Education.
Dr. Chang completed her doctorate in education and anthropology and master’s in education and anthropology from the University of Oregon and her bachelor’s in education from Yonsei University.
Christa Lee-Chuvala, PhDEastern University
Dr. Christa Lee-Chuvala is an assistant professor at Eastern University’s College of Business and Leadership. She teaches organizational leadership, economics, and data analysis courses.
Her research centers on economic development, the economics of social transformation, social impact, social enterprise, and social innovation. She has published her research in prominent journals such as the Journal of Cross Border Studies in Ireland and the Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy, and Society. She has won accolades, including the William H. Emerson Travel Award and the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.
Dr. Lee-Chuvala has a doctorate in urban and regional studies with a concentration in urban economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a master’s in urban planning from Harvard University, and a bachelor’s in political science and French from Taylor University.
Franklin Oikelome, PhDEastern University
Dr. Franklin Oikelome is a professor and business management concentration coordinator in the doctoral program in organizational leadership at Eastern University. He teaches courses on strategic leadership and organizational change, educational leadership and human resource development, and organizational leadership and globalization. Before joining Eastern University, he taught at the University of Hull, Queen Mary University of London, the International Labor Organization, and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Dr. Oikelome’s research efforts focus on human resource management, diversity management and labor relations, and inequality in employment. He has been published in prominent journals such as the Journal of Management, the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, and the Health Service Journal Supplement. He has received many awards, including the Provost Fellowship Grant Award, Best Graduating Student Award, and the Phelan Fellowship.
Dr. Oikelome has a doctorate in employment relations and a master’s in the same subject from the London School of Economics, as well as a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Lagos. He also has a postgraduate certificate in higher education (PGCHE) at the University of Hull.
University of Colorado, Boulder

David Balkin, PhDUniversity of Colorado, Boulder
Dr. David B. Balkin tis a professor of management in the organizational leadership and information analytics department at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He teaches corporate governance, strategic human resource management, management of compensation and benefits, and executive compensation. Before joining the University of Colorado, he taught at Northeastern University and Louisiana State University.
Dr. Belkin’s research centers around corporate governance, innovation, and the relationship between pay policies and firm strategy, as well as human resource management in high technology firms. He is a member of professional organizations such as the Society for Human Resource Management, the Academy of Management, and the Southern Management Association. His work has appeared in prominent journals such as the Journal of Management, the Journal of Change Management, and the Journal of Product Innovation Management. Dr. Belkin has a doctorate and master’s in human resource management from the University of Minnesota Graduate School of Business, and a bachelor’s in political science from the University of California at Los Angeles.
R. Wayne Boss, PhDUniversity of Colorado, Boulder
Dr. R. Wayne Boss is a management and entrepreneurship professor at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He teaches classes on organization development, consultation skills, organization behavior, and leadership. Before the University of Colorado, he worked at Brigham Young University.
Dr. Boss’s research foci center on organizational effectiveness, behavior, development, and consultation skills. His articles have appeared in high-impact journals such as the Journal of Health and Human Resources, the Journal of Academic Emergency Medicine, and the Journal of Management Inquiry. He has won many awards including the Health Care Division Best Paper Award and the MBA Teaching Excellence Award.
Dr. Boss completed his doctorate in organizational development with minors in research methods and organizational behavior from the University of Georgia. David Eargle, PhDUniversity of Colorado, Boulder
Dr. David Eargle serves as an assistant professor at the Leeds School of Business of the University of Colorado, Boulder in the organizational leadership and information analytics department. He teaches business statistics, data mining and business intelligence, databases, information security, and business systems development.
Dr. Eargle’s research efforts explore information security, neuroscience applications to HCI, behavioral information systems security, and human-computer interaction. He is a member of professional organizations such as the Information Systems Security Research and Association for Information Systems. He has published his research in many peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Management Information Systems, the Journal of Cybersecurity, and the European Journal of Information Systems. Dr. Eargle earned his doctorate in information systems and technology management from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as his master of information systems management and bachelor of science in information systems from Marriott School.
Ramiro Montealegre, DBAUniversity of Colorado, Boulder
Dr. Ramiro Montealegre is an associate professor of information systems at the Leeds School of Business of the University of Colorado at Boulder. Part of the organizational leadership and information systems faculty, he teaches courses on competing with information technology and the internet, systems analysis and conceptual design, and the management of information systems. Before joining the University of Colorado, he taught at many other universities such as the IE Business School, Case Western Reserve University, Harvard University, and Carleton University.
Dr. Montealegre’s research covers the interplay between information technology, organizational transformation, and the transfer of technology. He has written for the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, the Journal of Global Information Technology Management, and the Journal of Information Technology Management. He has received several awards, including the Boulder Faculty Assembly Excellence in Teaching Award, MBA Professor of the Year Award, and the Graduate Professor of the Year Award.
Dr. Montealegre completed his doctor of business administration from Harvard University, his master’s in computer science from Carleton University, and his bachelor’s in computer systems engineering from Francisco Marroquín University.
Joseph G. Rosse, PhDUniversity of Colorado, Boulder
Dr. Joseph Rosse is a management professor in the organizational leadership department at the Leeds School of Business in the University of Colorado at Boulder. He teaches human resource management, critical managerial and leadership skills, organizational behavior, and management development. Before he joined the University of Colorado, he was part of the faculty at the University of Minnesota and the University of Colorado at Denver.
Dr. Rosse’s research efforts examine the effects of employee attitudes on behavior, employee adaptation to work, and employee selection and retention. He has been published in the Journal of Management Education, the Journal of Business and Psychology, and the Journal of Managerial Issues. He has won many academic accolades, including the IBM Faculty Award and the S. Rains Wallace Dissertation Award.
Dr. Rosse completed his doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology with minors in labor and industrial relations and engineering psychology from the University of Illinois. He also has a joint bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Loyola University.
University of San Francisco
The mission statement of the University of San Francisco’s School of Management challenges students to use their knowledge and skills “to create a more humane and just world.” By illustration, the school demands academic excellence as a form of service to humankind. Dr. Zachary Burns is an assistant professor in leadership, organization, and communication at the University of San Francisco. Kathleen Kane, PhDUniversity of San Francisco
Dr. Kathleen Kane is a professor of organizational behavior and leadership at the University of San Francisco, where she teaches management and organizational dynamics, advanced leadership, building and leading effective teams, and leadership and teams.
Through her research, Dr. Kane examines the effect of race and gender in establishing the norms of respect in business settings. Her work has appeared in prominent journals such as the Journal of Management Education and the Organizational Management Journal. Richard Stackman, PhDUniversity of San Francisco
Dr. Richard Stackman is a faculty member in the organization, leadership, and communication department at the University of San Francisco. Dr. Paresh Mishra is an assistant professor of organizational leadership at Purdue University, Fort Wayne. Before he joined Purdue University, he worked at Gwinnett County Public Schools and Tata Motors.
