Greenville University (GU) Briner School of Business offers an online master of business administration (MBA) that can be completed in two years on a part-time basis. The GU online MBA offers students a faith-based curriculum with a focus on values-based leadership. Key topics include ethical leadership, employee motivation, and building trusting relationships in business organizations from a Christ-centered perspective.

Additionally, the online MBA is very flexible and affordable, designed specifically for working professionals. In fact, applicants should be currently employed or hold a position with a significant amount of responsibility to lend to the completion of the required capstone project.

The GU online MBA covers an array of topics, including human resources, organizational theory and practice, strategic management, accounting, legal and ethical issues, project management, international business, applied research and statistics, financial management, strategic management, and economics.

The program begins twice each in the fall, spring, and summer. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply. The GMAT and GRE are not required for admission unless other requirements are not met, and there are no campus visits required. Graduates of the GU online MBA may go on to positions such as budget analyst, management analyst, financial manager, marketing manager, or sales manager, or top executive.

What to Expect from the Greenville University Online MBA

Admission Requirements: Interested students must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher. Application materials include an online application, official transcripts, and a current resume or CV. The GMAT/GRE is not required unless an applicant does not have one of the following:

  • Two years of managerial or leadership work experience with specific quantitative and qualitative skills as outlined in a resume or gleaned during an interview
  • At least 12 undergraduate credits in any of the following: finance, economics, statistics, or accounting
  • Proof of a master’s degree from an accredited institution

Study Plan: The GU online MBA can be completed in two years on a part-time basis. A full-time plan is available to those who are able to balance the demands of work and intense graduate study. Students may transfer in up to six credits.

Start dates land twice each in the fall, spring, and summer. Courses last eight to 16 weeks and are fully online. No campus visits or internships are required. A capstone project is included in the program.

Online MBA Curriculum: The Greenville University online MBA comprises 40 credits. Courses include accounting management; strategic management; values-based leadership; organization theory and practice; legal and ethical environment; human resource strategies; project management; international business and global strategy; applied business research and statistics; economic thinking for managers; financial management; strategic marketing management; and signature learning experience (capstone).

Online Experience: GU utilizes Brightspace by D2L as its online learning management system (LMS) to deliver asynchronous online courses. There are tutorials available 24/7 for help with Brightspace.

In addition, students have access to technical support, academic advising, dedicated faculty support, financial aid services, library and bookstore services, and career counseling. The online learning environment is collaborative and rigorous, offering the same quality as the campus program.

On-Site Requirements: There are no on-site requirements as the GU online MBA is 100 percent online.

The GU online MBA tuition numbers are listed in the tables below, and do not include fees. Greenville University graduate students may apply for graduate student loans through the FAFSA. There may be institutional scholarships available and students are encouraged to seek outside funding such as community and organizational scholarships and grants, private loans, and tuition reimbursement programs through employers.
