Rogers State University Online Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Rogers State University (RSU) was founded in 1909, only two years after Oklahoma was granted statehood. The university was originally established as the Eastern University Preparatory School in the community of Claremore by the second session of the Oklahoma Legislature. The mission was to prepare the children of Native Americans, farmers, and ranchers for study in Oklahoma’s colleges and universities.
Today, RSU serves the educational and professional needs of the people of northeastern Oklahoma, and, with the advent of distance learning, RSU has extended access to its academic programs to the entire world. RSU was ranked as the most affordable online MBA program among the 51 programs found in the 2024 ranking of Best Online MBA Programs by online collegiate business news aggregate Poets & Quants. Poets & Quants focuses especially on content from the graduate business education market.
Rogers State University’s online MBA program offers a master of business administration (MBA) degree with five specializations: accounting, business analytics, health care management, management, and sports management. These MBA program specializations prepare program graduates for success in a variety of industries.
RSU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The RSU MBA program is also accredited by both HLC and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

What to Expect from RSU Online MBA Programs
Admission Requirements: To be offered admission, applicants must submit the online RSU application for MBA admission as well as official transcripts from all accredited undergraduate and graduate institutions they have previously attended. Several criteria may be used to evaluate applications. It is recommended that applicants have a degree in a business-related field, but this is not required.
Applicants lacking an undergraduate degree in business must complete a business preparatory course with a grade of B or better, or an equivalent graduate-level course from an institutionally accredited university. Though it is preferred that applicants maintain a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0, individuals who do not meet this standard will still be given consideration. Some applicants may be offered provisional admission pending completion of preparatory coursework.
Individuals currently completing their bachelor’s degree at RSU may be eligible to enroll in the accelerated BSBA to MBA program. In this program, students complete graduate-level coursework as undergraduate students. Students applying to this program must apply during their junior year. Students must be provisionally admitted to the MBA program before they are permitted to enroll in any graduate classes.
State Restrictions: RSU also welcomes students from a variety of backgrounds, such as international applicants and military personnel.
International applicants must complete several steps to be considered for admission. Applicants submit an online application for admission, an academic credential evaluation completed by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) accredited evaluation company, proof of English language proficiency, an I-20 packet, a copy of their official passport, proof of housing, and immunization records. Accepted proficiency exams include the TOEFL, IELTS, PTE and iTEP. Some applicants will be exempt from the English language proficiency requirement if they completed their high school education in a country exempt from this requirement. Full details on who must demonstrate language proficiency can be found on the RSU website. Upon admission, international students will receive their I-20 travel document and are then eligible to request the student visa necessary to study in the USA. Students who did not submit ACT or SAT scores are required to complete placement testing before enrollment. Full details on international student admissions can be found on the RSU website.
Active duty military personnel, veterans, military spouses and dependents are also welcome to complete RSU programs. Such individuals seeking admission to graduate programs must apply as transfer students. Application requirements include completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), applying for Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits, and collaborating with RSU’s Veteran Affairs Coordinator in the completion and maintenance of necessary documentation. Students in the National Guard who wish to participate in the Education Assistance Program (GI Bill Chapter 1606) must complete a separate application to this program. Military students who were previously pursuing graduate education at other institutions must also complete the change of program/place of training form. Military students must also regularly verify their attendance each month while enrolled in school. Full details on military student admissions can be found on the RSU website.
Study Plan: The RSU MBA program is designed to accommodate the needs of working professionals. Students can complete these MBA degrees in as little as 18 months. The MBA program features eight week long terms and five start dates per calendar year. Students interested in completing their program of study part-time or over an extended time period should consult with admissions regarding their degree study planning. Students must complete their program within five years and must maintain good academic standing throughout their studies.
MBA Curriculum: MBA students of all tracks complete a 36-credit-hour curriculum consisting of 27 credit-hours of core courses and nine credit hours specialization specific coursework. Paying for the RSU Online MBA Degree Programs
The tuition figures for the online MBA degree programs are listed in the tables below. Prospective students should carefully review the tuition information and contact RSU for additional support with applications and any questions they may have.
The RSU Office of Financial Aid assists students with the planning and execution of the finance of their education. The RSU website offers information on a variety of topics to guide students with this critical aspect of their education. Topics include the variety of financial aid resources such as scholarships, grants, federal work-study and student loans, important financial aid policies and procedures such as satisfactory academic progress policy, and guidance on how to apply for financial aid.
As is true of their undergraduate counterparts, graduate students may be eligible for various financial resources. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the primary application used to determine federal, state, and institutional aid. This application is available annually, and universities generally provide robust support in helping students understand and complete the FAFSA. Financial aid award determinations ultimately depend on several factors, including academic achievement, talent, financial need, and family background.
Students from certain backgrounds may be eligible for additional financial assistance. Examples of such backgrounds include military personnel and those with significant obstacles in their family and personal backgrounds. All prospective graduate students are advised to thoroughly research the RSU website to inform their strategy for financing their education.
