What to Expect from Eastern University Online MBA Programs
Admission Requirements: To be offered admission, applicants must submit a complete online admission application, official transcripts from all degree-conferring accredited institutions of higher education (undergraduate degree as well as graduate if applicable), and a curriculum vitae or resume that includes information on the applicant’s educational and work history, internships, and leadership roles or related experiences.
Applicants with an unaccredited bachelor’s degree may be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in their undergraduate studies though individuals who do not meet this threshold may also be considered. Applicants can also qualify if their graduate degree GPA was at least 3.0. Applicants are recommended to visit the Eastern University website or contact the university directly to confirm current program features and admission requirements.
State Restrictions: Eastern University welcomes students from a variety of backgrounds, such as international applicants and military personnel.
International applicants from non-English speaking countries must verify their English language proficiency by taking an English proficiency exam from an approved provider of such examinations. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a common exam whose scores are accepted by Eastern University. Admissible TOEFL exam scores are those completed within two years of the applicant’s desired term of entry. Another common theme for international applicants is determining that their existing academic education is essentially equivalent to that expected of domestic applicants. Eastern University requires international applicants to submit an evaluation of their education credentials by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Applicants may submit an evaluation request via SpanTran or ECE to have an evaluation conducted at a discounted rate.
Eastern University also welcomes applications from military students and related individuals. Such applicants complete an online application just like other applicants do. Applicants must submit all supplemental information/items as instructed by their admissions counselor. Military personnel and related individuals must submit their joint services transcript (valid for all services but Air Force) or Air Force transcript. Eastern University also participates in a variety of military/veteran benefits programs. Applicants are expected to follow all guidelines when applying for such resources. Students who ultimately use Veterans Administration (VA) benefits must also complete the VA enrollment certification form. Given the complexity and variety of military backgrounds, needs, and career aspirations, it is recommended that individuals with military backgrounds closely work with Eastern University during the application process as well as after matriculation.
Study Plan: Students can complete the Eastern University MBA degree in as little as 10 months though students completing an optional concentration will likely need a little more than a full calendar year to finish their program. The curriculum consists of self-paced, seven-week-long online courses. Program start dates are offered multiple times per year. Students interested in completing their degree over an extended time period should contact a student services representative to verify current Eastern University policy regarding degree study planning.
MBA Curriculum: MBA students of all degree tracks must at a minimum complete a 30-credit-hour curriculum consisting of ten (10) three-credit-hour courses. Core course topics include the following: business environment; innovation and design; strategic human resource management; strategic marketing management; data analysis for business; financial accounting; managerial economics; operations and supply chain management; leading organizational strategy; and a capstone course where students apply their knowledge.
