What to Expect from the Aspen University Online MBA Programs
Admission Requirements: Applicants to the online MBA program must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate program. Applicants to the online MBA with a finance specialization must have two years of professional work experience in finance or accounting. Additionally, they must have earned either a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or have completed two graduate-level finance classes.
Application materials include a completed application, official transcripts, and any other documentation required for the finance specialization. No GMAT or GRE is required.
Study Plan: The MBA programs can be completed in 18 months or more. Courses begin every two weeks throughout the year. No campus visits or residency experiences are required. Courses last eight weeks each and students can take one to two courses per eight weeks according to their schedules. A final proctored exam is administered after the MBA program. Students should expect to spend about 17 hours per week on each three-credit course.
MBA Curriculum: The MBA program comprises 36 credits. Core MBA courses for all specializations include management; marketing management; business ethics; eBusiness; quantitative analysis; managerial accounting; business finance; managerial economics; and graduate capstone.
Finance: Specialization courses include corporate financial management; Innovative finance and venture capital; and global corporate finance.
Information Management: Specialization courses include project management essentials; information systems strategic planning; and emerging technologies.
Project Management: Specialization courses include project management essentials; project management organizational framework; and project management integration framework.
Online Experience: MBA courses are delivered asynchronously through the D2L Brightspace platform. Courses last eight weeks each and may include case studies, recorded lectures, videos, readings, projects, and assessments. Students collaborate through discussion boards, email, and chat. Student services may include academic counseling, faculty office hours, student success services, technical support, and career counseling.
On-Site Requirements: There are no campus visits required for the online MBA as the program is 100 percent online.
