King University Online MBA Programs
King University, located in Bristol, Tennessee, offers an online MBA with a choice of three concentrations: healthcare administration, management, and project management. This intense program takes place over four consecutive semesters, taking only 16 months to complete.
The main focus of the King University MBA is to prepare graduates to manage for quality results. As such the curriculum is fully integrated and is delivered in a team-based learning model. In addition, King University is a Christian entity, and prepares students to serve God, the Church, and the world with a focus on responsibility, thoughtfulness, and resourcefulness.
Interested professionals should hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least two years of professional work experience. Courses are delivered in five-week increments. Students without a business degree background must take the following seminars before taking the corresponding courses: statistics, economics, accounting, finance, and marketing. In order to graduate, online MBA students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and pass the Peregrine Comprehensive Exam in the final semester of coursework.
MBA students must have their own laptop computer with Microsoft Office 2016 or newer installed, a webcam, and high-speed internet access. Microsoft Office 365 is available to all King University students and is available for download using the university credentials.
The online MBA core courses focus on topics such as business communication, ethics and policy development, project management, statistical analysis, research, and plan development. Students are then able to choose an area of focus from one of six concentrations, taking three courses for each.
Graduates of the online MBA program may be prepared for roles such as finance executives, management consultants, brand managers, human resource managers, healthcare directors, hospital administrators, and business owners.
What to Expect from the King University Online MBA Program
Admission Requirements: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher from a regionally accredited institution. Students with a lower GPA may be considered on a case by case basis. No GMAT/GRE is required. Applicants should have at least two years of professional work experience. In order to apply, students must submit an application, resume, official transcripts, a personal statement, and two letters of recommendation. In addition, an interview with the MBA program coordinator is required.
Study Plan: The King online MBA begins in the fall, spring, and summer with two start dates in each semester. Courses run five weeks each and the program is designed to be completed in 16 months. All students must take a comprehensive MBA exam during the final course.
Curriculum: The online MBA through King University comprises 36 credits over twelve courses plus a comprehensive assessment. Up to six graduate credits may be transferred into the program upon approval.
Core courses include leadership; quantitative and research methods; economics of organizational architecture and strategy; marketing; accounting for managerial decision-making; strategic financial management; business law; strategic management; applied management science; and comprehensive assessment.

Online Experience: The online MBA program is structured so that students take one course at a time in five-week increments. A synchronous four-hour online session may be included each week for learning and collaboration. King University delivers courses through the Canvas online learning management system. Students have access to all resources enjoyed by on-campus students, such as library services, Upswing online tutoring, the online writing center, the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE), technical support through the IT Department, and career counseling.
On-Site Requirements: There are no on-site requirements as the King University online MBA is 100 percent online.
Paying for the King University Online MBA Program
King University charges $605 per credit plus fees. Applicants are always responsible to check with admissions for updated tuition charges. Students interested in financial aid should contact the King University Office of Financial Aid. Students may be eligible for federal student loans by applying through the FAFSA. Applicants are encouraged to seek tuition reimbursement from their employer or check into outside resources to fund their MBA education.
